Mahjong is the Chinese version of solitaire with fanciful multi-level spreads of rectangular counters. As in card solitaire, you are to take away pairs of the identical counters from the playing field, until all of them are removed. Sometimes you don’t have to undo all the spread, it’s enough to get to two “golden” counters and remove them from the playing field. The set of counters can be either Chinese or bear the symbolics of other civilizations. Many of the Mahjong games feature a fascinating plot.
